How we verify what’s listed here
These directories are built on a simple rule: we would rather show you less than tell you something we can’t back up. This page explains exactly what our badges mean, where the data comes from, and what to do when something is wrong.
Fewer listings, on purpose
When we built the garages directory, public sources gave us 556 raw results. We reviewed each one against its own sources and kept only the real garages — cutting duplicates, closed businesses, parts shops mislabelled as workshops, and listings we could not confirm exist. Roughly two-thirds of the raw data did not survive that review. Every listing that remains carries the source it came from, and facts we could not confirm are left blank rather than guessed.
What each badge means — and doesn’t
Owner-verified
The business claimed its listing and confirmed its details, and our team approved the claim. It means the information comes from the business itself. It is not a quality rating or an endorsement.
Verified
Our team confirmed the listing is authentic — the organisation exists and the identity checks out. Again: an authenticity check, never a recommendation.
Publicly sourced
Compiled from public sources and existence-checked, but not yet claimed by its owner. Being listed is not an affiliation with us, and contact details stay hidden until the owner consents.
What we deliberately don’t show: star ratings imported from other platforms. Where our own members report visit outcomes or write reviews, they are labelled as exactly that — first-party, with the reporter’s verification level shown on the report itself, and business owners can never rate their own listing.
Corrections
We keep dated internal truth-logs of what changed on a listing and why. When we learn a fact is wrong — from an owner, a member, or our own re-checks — we correct the listing or remove the claim rather than defend it. If we cannot re-confirm something important, we would rather delete it.
Something wrong? Tell us.
Garage, event and trail listings carry a Report button — no account needed; for anything else, write directly to our Grievance Officer (contact@prodmitsolutions.com). Our goal is to acknowledge within 24 hours and resolve within 15 days — see the Grievance Officer page for the full mechanism. If you own a listing, you can claim it for free and manage what’s shown.
